When I was a boy, I was collecting sport cards, mainly hockey. Like many people, I stoped for many years, came back to it for a short period of time in 2006, and again in 2010. Over the past few months I've really been into it. But as an adult collector, I'm left with many questions, and what we often refer to a "the hobby" got me thinking about many things, including the real reasons why one would be interested in such a collection.
I've been collecting stamps and old postcards for many years now. I think there is a distinction to be made between "collecting" and "accumulating". It seems as if many people simply accumulate, and then call it a collection. We all do it at some point, and it's OK, a part of the process. But stamps and old postcards got me doing some serious researches about History and Urbanization. And I wonder if sport cards could lead to the same thing.
So basically, I'm creating this blog as a personal place to gather my thoughts on the "act" of collecting sport cards. It's also a place intended to simply compile additions to my collection and humbly share it with other bloggers.
I want this blog to be a tool for organizing my thoughts, but also a place where I can just have fun.
